For me in 2013-2014 podcasting was a worldconnecting medium. Through people like Jordan Harbinger, Abel James, Dave Asprey Tim Ferriss & Russ Roberts I was exposed to ideas that I was not finding in the walls of the supposedly forward-thinking institutional complexes I was a part of (Boston Consulting Group at the time). At the time I was fighting a bad case of lyme disease and I literally found multiple things that helped me turn the corner health-wise (fasting, keto, HIIT, biohacking) that literally turned my life around. Its pretty shocking how dramatic this was for my life and this period also coincided with when I started to be a little more brave in putting myself "out there."

One thing journalists and critics get wrong about these networks is they think people are locked in to one or two people around a topic. I've found that a much larger majority move from node to node and are constantly surprised by the new spaces, worldviews and meme-psaces they encounter, but rarely become true believers for very long.

I find that over time I move from world-connector to micro-niche people and ideas, much like your newsletter Packy. I find much more interesting ideas from people with a small following than I do with a much larger now, mostly because these people are still playing and experimenting instead of monetizing, which has become much easier. Tim Ferriss used to wander more with his podcast, now hes playing at the A-level and getting PAID.
