Awesome post. I hadn't really thought of it until now but it seems like On Deck is playing in the pre-PMF space while Reforge is playing in the post-PMF space. They are running similar playbooks and I would back up the trucks for both!

I have to ask since I didnt see a disclosure: is this a paid post?

If it's paid, I always disclose it right up front. In this case, it wasn't paid, but the Not Boring Syndicate invested, which I disclosed up top - that's what the investment memo pieces are.

Sorry not sure what you wanted to achieve with this piece. The first paragraph should give us a hint as to why you are writing this. I originally thought you were going to make a pitch to raise more money for them but that did not happen. You write so well that it is always nice to read your pieces but they should sort of have a start a meddle and an end. When I finished, I thought the company was interesting but did not really know why it appeared unless it was just to let us know you were excited.

At times your writing does this. Love to read it but when I get finished have to ask what just happened. Sorry this seems negative but it is meant to be positive. best rs

Thanks for sharing, Packy! I read this post which eventually led to me joining the next ODF cohort https://saharmor.medium.com/a-note-for-those-who-consider-joining-on-deck-d5000fa59f93.

Looking forward to it!

What a great piece. I think on-deck is on track to do something big.

Here's something with similar intentions from Singapore, which have yet to pivot to the kind of stack you've highlighted Ondeck is doing.
