Trump is not President. I'm surprised people even refer to him as Former President Trump (although it's technically true), given that he has been convicted, guilty on 34 felony counts, with possibly more to come.
I'm disappointed to read the opening line of this post where you seem fond of him.
As much as you love the USA, I'd expect you to hold a higher standard for our leaders.
P.S. We need to escape this 2-party system of "which choice is less terrible" and adopt Ranked Choice Voting.
Ridiculous that you clung to his first few hundred words filled with rage instead of enjoying the fascinating topic he covers in the body of this article. Take a deep breath and stop fixating on your deep hatred of Trump. There is more to life.
I also miss the good old days where optimization wasn't a priority and you could just dive in any topic by searching "topic + blog". Most likely, the person behind the first results was fueled by pure passion rather than by the likes.
By the way, looking at that graph from Technological Revolutions and Financial Capital, is very easy to spot at what point the AI currently is. Kind of crazy that it was published in 2003.
Looooove this, especially the ability to better world-build. After all, creators are more than ~just~ newsletters or podcasts. They stand for something, and this gives them the ability to better express that.
I'll definitely be playing around with a better way to share my work with Comma.
LOVE the idea of interactive 3d/world building corners of the web to make a home… it reminds me of the feeling you get in games like World of Warcraft, when you are in an awesome guild… or playing Minecraft on a multiplayer server with friends you trust.
Creativity and connection and play are very interrelated and I’d love for that to be an experience that more people have in life online <3
Good piece, I’ll check it out. But to what degree do you think this will bring back something like Web 1.0 surfing or Web 2.0 blogs? I feel like social media and TikTok are just too easy to consume. Back in the pre YouTube era people talked about “lean forward” and “lean back” experiences — that is, navigating content on your computer vs scrolling or passively consuming TV. I feel like we’re stuck in a lean back world and it’s hard to imagine getting out of it.
Along the same lines, I’ve noticed that among my close friends our texting has devolved into just sharing memes back & forth. A communication protocol has turned into a lean back experience

Agreed on the last point for sure. Former President Trump*

One really good way to deal with slop is to learn to train your algorithm by intentionally deprecating the slop out of your own feeds.

Awesome article. Is the creation piece of oncyber considered universal scene description (USD)?

Thanks. Never heard of the term "slop" but it does make so much sense.
We need to take more control of our feeds and ensure its high quality.
Will definitely look at https://oncyber.io/ could be really powerful for a use case I am working on
The internet has not been fun for a long time mate.
