Powerful stuff - Quote”When you have an idea for a product you want to build, for a community you want to form, for anything you really and truly want to make exist in the world, when you can’t stop thinking about making it exist, the tools you’ll need start appearing. New technologies, research, even people. The world becomes a menu. “

Ambition is the flower of alignment of one’s unique self/soul with market and community-- solving a problem you know well (and preferably are deeply offended by) for a community you know well (and preferably care a lot about). In my shop we call it Slykigai-- purpose-driven entrepreneurship.

This speech by Graham Weaver is a perfect supplement to this article - he touches on many similar points when explaining How to Live an Asymmetric life. Probably the best speech I've ever listened to - no bullshit, instantly relatable to everyone. Highly recommend listening.

1. Do hard things

2. Do your thing

3. Do it for decades

4. Write your story

Its so funny, I've been thinking about this too; that if you're really convicted to make something happen the universe conspires to help you achieve it. We really are lucky to be alive!

Truly inspiring. Whenever I see the question "What should you do with your one life?" I always smile and say "Plan the next one." It's not a big stretch to think that AI Gestation may allow your own DNA to reproduce itself, very soon. Given that, DNA stewardship suggests itself, and I resume my simple journey.

This was incredibly inspiring, thanks Packy.

My goal in life is similar to what you do: I want to inspire and excite the young generation for the future again.

It pains me to see people feel so bleak about their amazing future that's to come. The mainstream media's at fault, but I'm going to change that.

I wrote an essay this week called Fake deadlines and Affirming signs talking about something similar. I am on the verge of starting something new, trying to be ambitious and I find encouragement in the world. Two of my favourite authors on substack shared their story about pain (which my startup is about). Delighted to find this essay too. It’s a sign!

Double down on emotional awareness (wellness) and relationships.

That's an important part of my plan.

Even more important than any ambition.

AI and other technologies will bring lots of uncertainty (even while they create abundance).

So learning how to stay comfortable and offer comfort to others (when there is chaos and frenzy) is a priority.

Absolutely love this.

Was thinking about this quote from Carl Jung as I read this:

“An old alchemist gave the following consolation to one of his disciples: “No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you.”

― Carl Jung

Thanks, Packy! I've been playing with the idea of creating a community of educators who are future- focused and unbounded by the current limitations of the current public educational system. I keep stopping myself because it seems everyone is pitching their product or service as the solution. I am going to work to create this community just to see what wonderful new ideas will come of it.

This is one of those spookinesses that I love and sometimes fear...when I was deciding which essay topic to write about last week I was torn between two topics on browsing my iphone notes... The one I set aside to write another day was based on that very quote as I'd heard it on radio 4 recently;

'From great lives on radio 4

Tell me what you’ll do with your one wild and precious life

Mary Oliver'

You've done it justice, very inspiring and motivating post, thank you! 🥰
