You write "The vast, vast majority of us — those who think that killing innocent people is abhorrent..."
Adding the word "innocent" leaves what you said open to interpretation. Innocence of any victim is always subjective to an individual's perspective and ethical model. Humanity cannot evolve to its potential until taking a life, for any reason become a taboo like cannibalism.
It's a sad situation when people are celebrating a murder. I can't understand it. And, I get it that these are extremists. But what get's me is that more people are not calling it out as WRONG. We need to stand up for what's right! This type of violence has no place in America. The same political leaders that are coming out now and stating there is no place for violence in politics are the same folks that have fostered this negativity. When you demonize people and stir things up for votes by calling the opposition Nazi's and fascists you can't come out later and call for peace. Hypocrites. BS.

Thanks Packy for the reminder about “individual machinery.” It’s up to each of us.
Amen
Bonus points for the Bonus section this week, @Packy! Oboe’s going to fuel a whole lot of inquiry for me. Already generated a course based on some questions that came up over my cup of coffee. 🤯 https://oboe.fyi/courses/the-philosophical-journey-of-technology-through-its-epochs-ilvr6ezq
Wasn't David Foster Wallace abusive towards women?
